Meet Grace.

This beautiful medium size lurcher girl came into our care from the dog pound just a few days ago, and if we’re honest, she’s finding the world a little overwhelming right now. As you can see from her pics she’s struggling to even make eye contact.

We believe Grace is around three years old, although as with so many pound dogs, we have no history and can’t know for certain. What we do know is that she is an incredibly sweet, gentle soul who seems to be wondering what on earth has happened to her.

Grace appears to have lived a very different life to most pet dogs. Her scars, marks and thick winter coat suggest she may have been kept outdoors and possibly worked. We don’t think she’s ever experienced the comfort of a loving home, a warm sofa, or the security of belonging to somebody.

Despite everything, she remains the kindest little girl. She’s shy and worried, but there isn’t a bad bone in her body. More than anything, she just wants to feel safe.

Grace would love a quiet home where she can finally rest and begin to trust. She could potentially live with a calm, neutered male dog who will give her space and won’t pester her, but equally she’d be happy as the centre of someone’s world. Grace can’t be placed with cats and needs a home where she won’t be left alone until she’s settled in.

She doesn’t need much. Just a warm bed, a quiet corner to curl up in, patience, kindness, and somebody willing to show her that life can be good.

Right now, Grace isn’t asking for grand adventures. She’s simply asking for love and to feel safe.
